25th May '05 - Colour-Fast Trade Printers

It was only about two weeks ago that we realised that the stocks of fansfueler pledge forms were looking very depleted and that there was a distinct possiblility we would run out at the Main Event if not before and we hadn't left ourselves with much time to remedy the problem. We were pondering the best course of action when I recalled fansfueler member Gary Simes of Colour-Fast Trade Printers saying to us "If you ever need anything printing...."

Gary has already given us one big gesture by redonating the raffle prize of a set of wheels and tyres from AEZ that he won at the Flame and Thunder Show 2004 back to fansfueler. So this time we are doubly grateful for Garys help and that of his associates at CTP London. We quickly redesigned the pledge form hopefully making it both easier to read and leaving more space for you to write your details when making a pledge and forwarded the images to CTP London who provide a specialist trade platemaking service to printers. Colour-Fast will then be printing and finishing our new forms, hopefully tonight, ready for the Main Event.

So we would like to take this opportunity to thank Gary Simes, Colour-Fast Trade Printers and CTP London, the official print suppliers to fansfueler for all their help.

22nd May '05 - European Fantasy Drag Racing

With the FIA/FIM Championship season almost upon us we are launching the European Fantasy Drag Racing League in association with our friends at DragsterWorld.com.

Its your chance to be the manager of your own team of professional drivers/riders without ever getting your hands dirty and we will be awarding prizes to the winning team manager at the end of the 2005 season. The fantasy league will run throughout the season, and you can join in at any time, although the more events you are entered for, the higher your chance of earning $'s for your fantasy bank balance!

To enter the European Fantasy Drag Racing League you should first read through the rules and information on the dedicated EFDR site, then you will need to let us know who is in your team by posting in the fansfueler Fans Forum (registering is easy, you just need a valid email address and it only takes a few clicks). Alternatively if you are a member of the DragsterWorld Forum you will be able to post your team there. We will then add your team to our database and keep track of how your drivers and riders are doing throughout the season. After each event we will credit or debit any winnings or costs from your fantasy bank account and update the league table so that you can see how well you are doing. The winner will be the entry with the highest fantasy bank balance after the European Finals in September. We will also be having some extra bonus competitions for each of the rounds of the Championship, so don't forget to keep checking back to see whats happening.

10th May '05 - Main Event News

Round 1 of the 2005 FIA European Drag Racing Championship is almost upon us and whilst unfortunately we will not be racing we will be at Santa Pod Raceway to further promote everything that is Fansfueler! So do come and say hello to us on the fansfueler stand.

The Main Event looks like its going to be a real stormer of a race in 2005 and with 10 Top Fuelers vying for a place in the 8 car field, the Saturday and Sunday qualifying looks as if it will be very hard fought with two cars going home on Sunday night. Its just a shame that fansfuelers' good friend and supporter Darryl Bradford has had to withdraw his entry after suffering damage to the John and Leslie Wright Top Fuel Dragster over the May Day bank holiday weekend at Shakespeare County Raceway. But we're sure Darryl will be back in the hotseat very soon.

The Top Fuel entry list:

1 Andy Carter UK B&Q
2 Micke Kagered Sweden Bahco Express
3 Tommy Moller Sweden
4 Joran Persaker Sweden Persaker Speedshop
5 Thomas Nataas Norway Batmobil
6 Smax Smith Canada Mainline Menace 8
7 Lex Joon Netherlands MPM Oil
8 Jon Webster UK Canto Recruitment
3158 Chris Andrews UK
  Gary Page UK

A number of the other FIA/UEM Championship classes also have large entries with 11 in Top Methanol Funny car and all three UEM Bike Classes standing at 10.

Its also very good to see our friends John Spuffard and Bob Jarrett back at the track with the Showtime Top Fuel Funny Car after sitting out the Easter Thunderball. Bob has been working hard and gaining experience in the US on the NHRA circuit and with some new parts on the car the team are really hoping to put to rest the problems that dogged them in 2004. The Showtime team will be match racing a best of three with the Shockwave Funny Car of Gordon Smith and Dave Bryant, with one round each day on Saturday,Sunday and Monday.

Theres also a huge number of entries in the sportsman classes all adding up to what we're sure will be one of the biggest drag races Europe has ever seen!
