31st Aug 2005 - Parade of Power

Barry Sheavills will be making a personal appearance at the Parade of Power in Wellingborough town centre on Friday 2nd of September in association with Santa Pod Raceway. Barry will be talking about his racing career to date and will be on hand to answer questions from the crowds. The Parade of Power starts at 7pm and will include a cavalcade of race machinery through the streets of Wellingborough and a static display in the Market Square where Barry will be meeting the assembled crowds.

The Santa Pod Funny Car and Top Fuel Dragster will be on display alongside one of Martin Hills Jet Funny cars. Amongst those making noise in the procession around the town will be Super Street Bike racer David Warren, Paul Marston Racing with three of their fleet and Ronnie Picardo with the recently rebuilt Santa Pod Wheelie Truck.

Sounds like it could be a fun night to us, so if you're in the area why not go along and support the drag racers in their efforts to take the sport to a wider audience. The Parade of Power will be covered by both local radio and Anglia TV.

21st Aug 2005 - Fantasy Drag Racing Update
The European Fantasy Drag Racing leaderboard has been updated and all fantasy account balances have been updated with the all the data from the Mantorp and Gardermoen rounds of the Championship.

7th Aug 2005 - Rain, Rain Go Away

After the rain delayed race at Mantorp Park, Sweden was eventually cut short by the tracks curfew time, we had all hoped for better racing weather for the Norwegian round of the FIA Championship at Amcar Raceway, Gardermoen, but sadly it was not to be the case. After two rounds of blisteringly quick qualifying on the Friday, the rains came on Saturday. Although the track crew worked tirelessly to dry the track, the rains returned to scupper their efforts. The event was officially "rained-out" at 1:00pm on Sunday. Lets hope the weather is more conducive to quarter mile action when the tour returns to Santa Pod Raceway, UK for the European Finals in September.

17th July 2005 - Fantasy Drag Racing Leaderboard Update

The European Fantasy Drag Racing accounts have been updated with all the data from Finland. There were some large gains for most teams but also a few losses at the Alastaro round.

Manchester's Elliott "billyboy" Jones now takes over the Fantasy League lead from round 1 leader Martin Gleadow, who's Pro-Mod entries really didn't perform up to expectations during the Finnish event.

Biggest winner at Alastaro was Gary Cottingham with a huge event win of $14,650 thanks to his team of Top Fuel winner and #1 qualifier Andy Carter, Top Fuel runner-up Thomas Nataas, and Top Methanol Funny Car winner and #1 qualifier Urs Erbacher.

Also making moves up the leaderboard thanks to Urs Erbacher were Marky and Nitro(Jon)Besty. Marky also had two other class winners on his team with Dave Wilson (TMD) and Ian King (TFB), while NitroBestys choice of TF winner Andy Carter and second round loser Lex Joon made him a good profit.

Biggest negative move was the team of Vic Smith, who had a nightmare weekend with Micke Kagered out in round one, Niclas Andersson a "no show" in the first round after sustaining damage in qualifying and British Pro Mod supremo Andy Robinson not making the long trip north to the land of the midnight sun.

Don't forget there's still time to join in the fun by posting your entry in the fanfueler forum, but don't forget to read the rules...!!!
